After fifteen years of maturation, the whiskey is finished in new oak harvested from the distillery's own estate, a rare use of single-origin Vermont wood that gives this release its signature complexity and sense of place.The estate oak, with its tight grain and bespoke toast and char, layers extra depth over the whiskey's bold rye backbone. The nose is deep and aromatic, with caramel, vanilla, allspice and a flash of burnt orange, while the palate is warm and lightly creamy, offering butterscotch, baking spice, leather and a hint of tobacco.The finish is long and inviting, where the spicy rye character asserts itself and slowly fades.
