This authentic Large djembe is hand-carved in Ghana from a single piece of solid hardwood and fitted with a natural West African goat-skin head. The 11" playing head and tall body deliver deep bass, ringing open tone, crisp slap and the projection that anchors a circle or carries on stage. A stable 8.25" base and substantial build give a true full-size playing position. Each drum is rope-tuned and ready to play. Handmade variations in carving, finish, wood grain and hide texture make every piece unique. A faint natural goat-skin scent may be present at first and fades with airing.
