Floored: A Pelvic Floor Exploration (June 2026)
Everyone has one, yet many of us have never given our pelvic floors much thought. It is a realm of our being that has been cast into so much darkness that we’ll quietly refer to it as ‘down there’. But really, the pelvic floor deserves to come into the light (ok, maybe not literally, but it certainly deserves to come back into our awareness). Not only does it play a key role in physiological functions such as continence and pleasure, it is also foundational to the functioning of our breath and the stability of our core. If you're at all familiar with the practices of The Embodied Present Process you'll know that the pelvic floor is the first stop for many of them. The pelvic floor is a place to come home to within the body and from which you can reliably join the present. In our culture, the pelvic floor is often locked in tension and kept in the darkness, leaving us unable to access the strength and support provided by that deep-dwelling realm. All that can be changed. Join TEPP co-director Allyson Woodrooffe and reclaim the grounded clarity of your pelvic floor. In this gentle exploration, she'll use images and video first to show how the pelvic floor can be functioning optimally, and then she'll share some simple embodiment practices that bring life and breath back into that realm with tangible specificity. Together we'll: Demystify this realm of your being. Learn simple practices that can support you in your everyday life, whether in motion or at rest. Discover how differently the world feels when your awareness opens to the groundedness of your being (rather than being perched up in your head). A Request I recognize that we all have a fair bit of 'zoom fatigue', however, the group experience is so much stronger when we're all together on the screen. If it's possible for you to have your camera on for this workshop, please know that it helps me and everyone else feel connected. Plus, it's tricky leading a practice when you don't know if someone with their camera turned off is following along or emptying the dishwasher! 🤪 Group size Enrolment limited to 16. Who is this for? Anyone with a pelvic floor! Gentle and optional We recognize that in a culture so cut off from the body, the journey back home to the pelvic bowl can be complicated, especially if trauma has been experienced there. The practices shared will be gentle and always optional.
