Proofing Basket

The oval proofing basket, traditionally known as banneton in French or brotform in German, is a centuries-old tool used in European artisan baking to support dough and maintain structure to your bread dough during final fermentation. Generously coat the basket with flour (shaking out excess), before placing your dough for a final proof to add a decorative coil pattern to your homemade loaves of bread. Cover with our tea towel while the dough rises.
