Cymbidium Yoyos — Retractable Spike Supports
Serious Cymbidium growers know that a heavy spike left to its own devices rarely grows straight. The weight of developing buds pulls it sideways, spacing between flowers becomes uneven, and by the time blooms open the presentation is already compromised. Yoyos solve this cleanly — a retractable spring-tensioned line keeps constant gentle upward pressure on the spike as it develops, encouraging straight, even growth without the need to re-tension or readjust as the spike extends. How to use Attach the top hook to a fixed point above the plant — shadehouse wire, a cross-rail, or pushed directly into the top of a bamboo stake. Hook the small end clip onto the spike near its tip. The spring does the rest, maintaining consistent tension as the spike grows. The centre stopper pin lets you lock the line at your preferred length once the spike is positioned where you want it. Why show growers use them Keeps spikes growing straight — critical for show bench presentation Encourages even spacing between flowers as buds develop Self-adjusting spring means no re-tensioning as the spike extends Works alongside a bamboo stake or independently from overhead wire Reusable season after season Pack options 20pc — suits a small to medium collection 50pc — practical for an active show collection 100pc — best value for serious growers with large benches Sourcing & shipping We source supplies directly from specialist manufacturers throughout China — products we evaluated in person at the Canton Fair and chose because they're what serious growers and botanical collections actually use.
