Unique Piece Wood-Fired Soda Kiln Kohiki Green Gaiwan 120ml
Product Specifications Capacity: 120ml Diameter:9.1cm Height: 6.0cm Material: Mid-White Clay & Kohiki Glaze Food Safe: Yes Packaging: Premium gift box Wabi-Sabi & Retro-Minimalist Aesthetic Tea-green surface – muted, natural, calming Crackle network – subtle texture without bold contrast Emerald crystal – a hidden treasure inside In this piece, the Kohiki slip is formulated to interact with the soda kiln atmosphere, developing a tea-green coloration rather than remaining white. Across the green glaze, a delicate network of crackle lines spreads across both bowl and lid. These fissures form naturally during cooling as the glaze contracts faster than the clay body. With use, tea will seep into these fine cracks, gradually staining them with warm amber-brown tones—a process prized in tea culture as the vessel "ripens." Glaze accumulated at the lowest point has crystallized during cooling, forming a dense emerald-green crystalline pool at the center. This thicker glassy formation has a different optical quality than the surrounding glaze—deeper, more translucent, with visible crystal growth patterns. The effect resembles a jade cabochon set into the floor of the bowl.
