Unlike many L-number plecos, the L306 Pleco is actually a formally described species Panaqolus claustellifer. They originate from the Takutu and Rio Branco drainages of Brazil and Guyana, and the fish offered here are F3 tank raised from wild caught great-grandparents. These L306 Blood Red Tiger Plecos have been selectively bred for increased red coloration and some really unique pattern traits, including broken or discontinuous bars. Basically, they are not your average pleco. Like other Panaqolus plecos, the Blood Red Tiger Pleco is a wood eater, also called xylophagous. What We Feed Plecos L306 Blood Red Tiger Plecos are primarily herbivorous and xylophagous, so driftwood, vegetable-based foods, and algae-based sinking foods should make up most of their diet.
