Drava Field Coffee FIRELINE – Brazil Espresso 250 g
When the siren calls • no sleep • hold the line. Fireline is the firehouse coffee — the one in the pot at 3 a.m. when the tones drop. A sweet, soft Brazilian espresso from the Cerrado Mineiro, with caramel and milk chocolate instead of bitterness, so it goes down fast and doesn't fight back. Field strength rating: IP68. Tasting notes Caramel, biscuits, milk chocolate. Smooth black; with milk it tastes like dessert. This is the gentlest of the four espressos — low acidity, no roast bite, a rounded, biscuity sweetness that works just as well in a quick double at the station as in a latte at home. If you have ever been handed an espresso and thought "too much", this is the one that is not. The coffee Origin: Brazil, Tapira, Cerrado Mineiro, Minas Gerais — Canastra farm, producer Edson Luiz Ignácio, approx. 1,195 m a.s.l. Variety: Catucaí Amarelo 2SL Processing: natural Composition: 100% arabica, cupping score 82.50, current harvest Roast: espresso roast, medium Ingredients: 100% coffee, no additives Net weight: 250 g, whole bean Why Cerrado, why natural The Cerrado Mineiro is Brazil's high savanna — flat, sunny, with a sharply defined dry season that is ideal for the natural process: whole cherries dried on patios without rot, the bean soaking up the fruit's sugars as it dries. It was the first Brazilian coffee region to get a protected designation of origin, and it is the source of most of the "chocolate and caramel" Brazilian espresso the world drinks. Catucaí Amarelo is a yellow-cherry hybrid bred in Brazil for exactly this terrain: productive, disease-resistant and sweet. The Canastra farm in Tapira runs it as a single lot, which is why it cups at 82.5 rather than as an anonymous blend component. The same lot, by the way, is the arabica half of Stand-To. How to brew Roasted for pressure: espresso machine (manual or automatic) and moka pot. Forgiving on an automatic — a good choice for a shared station machine. Espresso (starting recipe): 18 g in, 36–40 g out, 25–30 s, water 91–93 °C. Very wide sweet spot — it tastes good over a range of grinds, which is what you want on a machine ten people use. Milk drinks: caramel and biscuit come forward; a flat white tastes like a dessert without sugar. Moka pot: medium-fine grind, no tamping, off the heat as soon as the stream turns pale. The natural-process sweetness suits stovetop brewing. Automatic bean-to-cup machine: default settings are fine; strength medium-high. The most automatic-friendly coffee in the line. Filter / French press: not recommended — espresso roast. For filter brewing pick Uptime 99.9, Overland or First Light. Caffeine and timing Solid espresso caffeine (IP68) without the heaviness: it is the espresso you can drink at 3 a.m. on a call-out and again at 7 a.m. at handover. For more body and darker chocolate, Blackout; for a brighter, fruitier shot, Payload. Who it's for Firefighters, rescue crews, volunteer brigades. Fireline is a tribute to the people who run towards it — it is not an official product of any fire service and carries no service insignia. For a station, it is the safe choice: nobody dislikes it, and it survives being brewed by whoever is nearest the machine. Roasted in Poland Drava Field Coffee is roasted to order by a specialty roastery in Kraków, in small batches, from beans graded above 80 points SCA. Packed in a one-way-valve bag with the roast date on the label. For best results use within 6 weeks of roasting. Storage Keep the bag sealed, away from light and heat — a drawer, not the fridge. The one-way valve lets CO₂ out and no air in, so the beans stay fresh without any extra container. For a station machine with a hopper, fill it per shift, not per week. Fireline vs. the rest of the line Fireline — Brazil natural, caramel and milk chocolate, soft and sweet. The station-machine espresso. Payload — Colombia, single origin, chocolate and plum. The all-day espresso. Blackout — Brazil, deep chocolate, heavier body. The night shift. Stand-To — arabica/robusta blend, pralines and cocoa, built for milk drinks. Uptime 99.9 / Overland / First Light — filter roasts for pour-over, AeroPress and drip. See the whole line: Drava Field Coffee. FAQ Is it ground? No — whole bean only, so it stays fresh. Grinding is the one upgrade that beats any coffee. Can we order for a station or brigade? Yes — contact us for case quantities and a B2B price. Roasted to order, lead time a few days. Decaf? Not in this line. All seven are caffeinated. Roast date? Printed on the label. Orders are roasted to demand, so you receive a current batch, not shelf stock. What is IP68 on the bag? Our own field strength scale, not a certification — see below. IP68 is our field strength rating — a measure of kick, not an ingress protection certification. For protective cases that actually carry an IP67 rating, see our Peli range.
