Catharsis Necklace

It is always a challenge to work with so many different gemstone families. Beyond the obvious task of harmonising colour, size, shape and clarity, there is something far more essential: the energy of each gem must work in synergy. This process requires hours of contemplation and feeling as I adjust and start again at the slightest hint of dissonance until the entire piece reaches perfect harmony. I have never combined this many distinct stones into a single piece before: Amazonite, Blue and Green Aquamarine, Green Rutilated Garnet, Carnelian, Lavender Amethyst, Natural Turquoise, Bamboo Coral, White Jade, Larimar, Labradorite, and Green Jasper. I also felt the need to incorporate Hill Tribe silver, a very high-quality form of silver that beautifully enhances the natural properties of the stones. As always, the piece revealed its name at the very end: “Catharsis.” Looking at it now, I understand why. The synergy between all these gems is so profound and powerful.
