The Big Watertank

This enchanting story tells of the author’s loving memories of sitting in the cool shade of the big water tank that used to be near the Derby jetty – this was her magic garden. Every weekend, her family piled into their old Ford Zephyr car and drove down to the jetty and the big water tank where the swallows flew in and out. Lizzy, big brother Cookie and little sister Ben Ben loved watching the busy swallows. Sometimes they could see baby swallows sticking their little heads out from the nests.
