Rolex Date 1500 w/"Tropical Espresso" Dial

The Rolex Date (34mm) is undoubtedly discussed less than its 36mm siblings; the now iconic Datejust and Day-Date. That doesn't mean the model should be overlooked however and we'd argue that the slightly smaller dimensions feel even more elegant on wrist, especially in yellow gold. This particular 170X example, circa '67 houses a fantastic black gilt dial that has taken a "tropical espresso" patina, offering a highly unique and warm array of brown tones. Clearly this piece has lived its own unique life and its one of the reasons we love vintage finds like this so much. Overall this piece has remained in good vintage condition. All of the tritium plots on the dial have darkened up but remain present and full. The case remains strong with thick, evenly proportioned lugs and sharp edges. The bracelet is a later folded link 7835/357. It retains 11 links, shows light stretch and will fit an approximate 7 inch wrist.
