This new collection by Carrie Fell plays with the many meanings of carried as remembered objects, stories, history, and inheritance. The works weave together the spirit of historic Southwestern Road trips with their subtle nuances of place, memory, and passage. This exhibition imagines the gallery as a place of arrival and exchange. This collection invites collectors to slow down and take notice, to look closely at the overlooked fragments that might otherwise pass quietly by. Through her new series, Carrie Fell transforms fragments of memory, texture, color, and Western vernacular into rare, small-scale compositions that feel intimate, collected, and deeply considered. Their scale creates a different kind of encounter: personal enough to live closely with, yet rich enough to reveal something new over time. In "Love Tokens," a cowgirl rides the open sky, drawn toward the horizon as though love itself has given the road its direction. Horse and rider move through a field of light and distance, carrying with them the quiet treasures of devotion. Above her, Mother Mary rests within the vastness, a quiet presence of grace. She is not distant, but woven into the journey, watching over the rider as she moves beyond what is familiar. Some journeys are carried as much by faith as by the road beneath us.
