This wonderful and intricately knotted vase mazar in celestial blue. The design is carefully picked out in burnt orange and potters gold. The delicate pendant and chain motifs are highlighted with a beautiful creamy ecru. The very best of Afghan weaving! This rug is hand knotted in Mazār-e Sharīf Afghanistan by the most skilled Afghan weavers. Hand spun wool is used with natural dyes derived from flowers and berries, as well as walnut husks and pomegranate rind, madder root and indigo then the rug is lovingly washed and finished. The end result is a very special rug with real depth and movement of colour. Each piece is completely unique and individually made. We only make hand knotted rugs: no shortcuts and no hand tufting.
