This Florens Wall Sconce emerges from an intersection of the Constructivist and Art Deco movements. It reflects Yaniv Chen’s investigation into parallel design developments occurring across Europe during the early twentieth century. The work investigates points of convergence between the two movements. Bent, mirror-polished stainless-steel elements generate a disciplined formal structure, while hand-printed steel panels in primary colours introduce a counterpoint rooted in Constructivist vocabulary. The composition relies on the tension between reflective surface, colour, and geometric order. Rather than referencing a single aesthetic lineage, the piece acknowledges a broader historical moment—one characterised by technological confidence, formal experimentation, and a sustained belief in cultural progress.
