HERITAGE SAWS - HS12 Up for sale is a HERITAGE SAWS Custom CARLTON model DOVETAIL SAW. This one has a truly unique silky smooth TASMANIAN SUNSET MYRTLE handle and is a 10” fine 14pi rip profile for most timbers. With the tapering spine these have the stance of a French rivera speedboat. The plate depth is 45mm below the spine tapering to 40mm for accurate & precise dovetails, plate length is 255mm & the saw is 380mm overall long, filed 14ppi rip with 5° of rake. Our HERITAGE SAWS are made at Vintage Tool Shop, Northcote, MELBOURNE completely hand shaped & fashioned by Mike & Jim & Ben. The Heritage Saws hand STAMPED BRASS BACKS are folded as in the traditional manner in house; our HAND MADE fancy timber HANDLES are shaped with rasps & files; we use AUSTRALIAN MADE brass SAW BOLTS on our saws; the saw plates are CUT BY HAND & teeth precision HAND FILED. Our dovetail saw blades are American 1075 spring steel 0.5mm thick & the brass backs are 3mm thick cartridge brass. These are saws made in the traditional way - pre industrial revolution style.
