Avocado - Greengold

Greengold is a high-quality avocado variety developed in California, well suited to warm-temperate climates, including many parts of New Zealand. It is known for its excellent flavour, smooth green skin, and reliable production. The fruit remains green when ripe, with a rich, creamy texture and a well-balanced, nutty flavour. Greengold originated as a seedling selection from Sharwil, with many of the desirable traits of Sharwil carrying through into this variety. Excellent news for Sharwil lovers, Greengold is an A-type flowering variety, while Sharwil is a B-type. Planting the two together allows for cross-pollination, improving fruit set while also providing similar high-quality fruit and an extended harvest period.
