Hand-Carved Wooden Nativity Set

Three carved wood figures: Joseph standing with a staff, Mary upright in prayer, and the Christ child lying in a manger. Each is painted in deep red and green with floral detail picked out by hand, leaves, small flowers, a star motif on Joseph's robe. The carving is blocky and direct, the faces simply rendered. Made in Indonesia. They sit together on a shelf or mantelpiece and hold their ground without fuss.Carved and painted by hand, so colour depth and detail vary slightly between sets.Wood Indonesia Joseph and Mary approx 15cm high.
