Day Glo Favites, Favites sp., is a colorful encrusting stony coral known for its shared-wall corallite structure, textured surface, and bold contrasting coloration under reef lighting. This WYSIWYG frag features red to reddish-pink tissue with bright green centers, yellow-gold highlights, and a vivid day-glow appearance that adds strong color contrast to established reef aquariums. Favites corals are popular with reef hobbyists because they are attractive, relatively hardy, and well suited for adding compact, colorful growth to reef rockwork. Avoid strong direct current, which can irritate the tissue or prevent natural polyp extension. Place this frag on stable rockwork with space around it, as Favites corals may extend sweeper tentacles and sting nearby corals.
