Cielo 1908 Nero di Gio
The story of Cielo begins in 1908. Giovanni Cielo purchases a piece of vineyard between Vicenza and Verona, overlooking the castles of Romeo and Juliet. More than a hundred years later, the fourth generation of winemakers pays tribute to Giovanni Cielo: Nero di Gio. This wine is made from mostly Montepulciano, Negroamaro en Merlot. Nero di Gio combines the best that Italy has to offer: the fruitiness of the north with the full and rich flavors of the south. Different native grape varieties, vinified separately with aging in oak. Tasting notes Nero di Gio, litteraly translated as Gio's black; this is what Giovanni Cielo called his rich red wines. Robust and concentrated with notes of black cherry and blackberry, a touch of cinnamon and hints of coffee and licorice. Food pairing Try this wine with grilled meat, pulled pork with red onion chutney or a hearty ragù.
