Tutoring Sessions with Mrs. Blocker

Oliva Blocker's Tutoring Experience As a former classroom teacher, I have a passion for helping students gain the necessary skills and confidence to develop a life-long love of reading. I focus on helping new and struggling readers reach their goals through individualized lessons tailored to each student's unique needs. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Florida, which certifies me to teach students in grades K-6 for general education and students in grades K-12 for special education. I hold a reading and ESOL endorsement through the Florida Department of Education and I am a structured literacy teacher through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI). I provide services through EMA for the Step Up for Students program. I hold sessions in person at The Taste of Curiosity, local libraries, or virtually, by request.
