Dating to the mid 20th century this Brass Koro is typical of the type you would see on altars or in home shrines. Filled with Ash, incense sticks are pushed into the ash and lit to purify the air and soul. A lovely design with incised floral pattern, the leaves in the centre represent the Kiri or Paulownia leaf, a symbol long associated with the Japanese Imperial family. Found in Kyoto on our most recent trip in May 2026 A few scratches here and there, but presents very nicely. A bag of Shoyeido Miyako white ash will be included to use with the koro. Measures 10cm wide x 7cm tall
