Bacteriostatic Water for Injection is a sterile aqueous parenteral diluent containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol, 9 mg/mL, as a bacteriostatic preservative. It is intended only for diluting or dissolving compatible drugs for IV, IM, or SC injection a; it is not intended for direct injection by itself and must be made approximately isotonic before IV administration. The commercial reference pH is 5.7, with an acceptable range of 4.5 to 7.0
