DAY AT THE BEACH - Hand Dyed on Stained Glass Fingering - Splashed & Speckled Yarn

Imagine that you just arrived at the beach. You walk through the tall green grasses toward the sand. You reach the sand and see the blues and greens of the ocean with white waves cresting in the distance. It's a quiet day with just a few other people enjoying the ocean breezes. The ocean meets the sky, which is lighter blue with soft fluffy clouds wandering lazily by. You find the perfect spot to put up your bright yellow beach umbrella and set up your salmon-colored chair. You gaze happily at the ocean and prepare for a relaxing day at the beach. That was the inspiration behind my Day at the Beach colorway. This is a splashed and speckled colorway, which means it isn't likely to pool. YARN BASE I dyed this colorway on Stained Glass Fingering, which is a soft and squishy 2-ply yarn made of 80% superwash merino and 20% nylon. The thing that makes Stained Glass Fingering uniquely wonderful is that one ply is made of white wool while the other alternates between black and white, so when I dye the yarn, it looks like leaded stained glass. Each 100 gram skein has 400 yards.
