To our great delight, Dusty Tapes continues its exploration of previously unreleased recordings connected with The Shadows. This time the spotlight falls on Marvin & Farrar, a group certainly well known to all fans of the famous British band and continuing the musical style established by Marvin, Welch & Farrar. The CD Music Makes My Day is a perfect addition to the modest Marvin & Farrar discography, bringing together rare and extremely rare recordings made by the duo between 1972 and 1974. The collection includes numerous songs originally performed by The Shadows, as well as covers of material by artists including The Beatles and compositions dating back to the Marvin, Welch & Farrar period. At times the duo were not afraid to play with a genuinely hard-rocking edge, as can be heard in the audio samples. The disc includes two substantial live performances, each running for around 35 minutes: one recorded in Japan in 1972, in absolutely superb sound quality, and another from Birmingham in 1974, in decent sound quality. The set is completed by two recordings from the 1974 television programme It’s Cliff Richard, as well as a demo version of It’ll Be Me Babe, a song recorded by The Shadows for a single two years later. The entire collection has been carefully documented and remastered. The speed of the archival recordings has also been corrected, and, wherever possible, the balance between the individual musical parts has been improved. The CD comes in a laminated gatefold card sleeve with a special inner envelope for the disc. With just one exception, all of these recordings are appearing on CD for the first time. 23 tracks, over 78 minutes of music!!! BELOW IS A SHORT VIDEO PRESENTING THE RELEASE:
