Merlot is one of the most successful varietals on the Wahluke Slope. This was no secret to Arianses Vineyard owner Bruce Zunzer when planting vines in 1998. This Merlot-dominant wine was crafted around the varietal’s intriguing dark-berry flavors, while the Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot contribute beautifully to the herbal complexity and elegant finish. | Bottled 7/19/2024 | 50 cases produced | Alcohol 14.70% | pH 3.71, TA 6.09 g/L | Sustainable WA 50% Merlot (Arianses Vineyard) 27% Cabernet Franc (Arianses Vineyard) 23% Petit Verdot (Arianses Vineyard) Barrels: This wine was aged 22 months in seasoned Export-style oak barriques from Alain Fouquet, Tonnellerie Doreau and Vernou, and supplemented with French oak infusion from XtraChêne with 1/6th influence from a once used Richelieu barrique on the Merlot.
