2024 LB. Instruments LB13 Electric Guitar (Made in Brisbane)

Built by Southside royalty, Leo Burmester, we are over the moon to introduce the LB13 that was crafted right here in Brisbane. Notes from the Luthier: "Originally built for myself using one of my favourite Australian timbers- Tasmanian Blackwood. A bit of an ode to the Koa Travis Beans. This guitar features a hand-carved 2 piece body that showcases one of Australia's most beautiful timbers. The neck is a perfectly quartersawn piece of blackwood with a dark indian rosewood fretboard, also bound in highly figured blackwood. The body is a thin 33mm to balance out the high density of the blackwood. The neck is a nice round C shape, perhaps a bit fuller feeling than a fender neck, but not by much. It is straight and stiff. This gives the guitar great sustain, and combined with the midrange-forward sound of the Travis Bean-inspired Madlove pickups, makes for a full and tight sound with great harmonics. The neck plate, pickguard, cavity and truss rod covers are aluminium. Neck plate "L" cut by hand with a coping saw and small files. I build all my guitars by hand in a small shed at my house in Brisbane, Australia. Each guitar is different and usually a great deal of time and energy is spent shaping them by hand to ensure they feel comfortable in your hand. I am not trying to create factory "perfect", but instruments that celebrate what they are and where they come from. As this guitar was originally for myself - it has been used. It has small some slight bucklerash on the back and some small marks about. The aluminium has slight oxidisation. I could probably repolish this if desired. "
