An additional zipped pocket on the left shoulder keeps smaller items within easy reach. A particularly unusual military feature is the heavily reinforced internal drag handle. Hidden beneath a zipped opening at the back of the shoulders, the reinforced structure extends through the garment towards the thighs and was designed to provide a strong recovery point if the wearer needed assistance. Zipped openings at the wrists and ankles make the coveralls easier to put on and remove over clothing and footwear. The waist is lightly elasticated and adjustable for a more comfortable fit, while snap fastenings around the collar were originally intended for attaching a compatible hood.
