Anzal's Symbolic Indigo Flatweave | 8'-8" x 12'-5"

This rug was handwoven by the artisans of Anzal, a women-led weaving association located 28 kilometers from the renowned weaving town of Tazenakht. Made from 100% live wool, the fibers were carded, brushed, and spun by hand by Mina and her sister. Dyed entirely with natural spices and pigments, the piece radiates an understated beauty. Its rich blue base comes from indigo stone, while the hand-stitched and embroidered symbolism is colored with henna, beets, flowers, pomegranate skin, and saffron.
