Built for the drop. Every drop. Some floors survive a workout. Ours survive a decade of them. Rubber Flooring Direct’s 20mm heavy-duty EPDM tile is engineered for the two things that kill gym flooring: relentless repetition and dead-weight impact. Underneath, a waffle-bottom profile creates air channels that absorb and disperse impact energy instead of transferring it into your slab — quieter drops, less bounce, less shock through the joints. In the middle, a proprietary core layer that holds its shape under load. On top, a pre-manufactured wear layer with color flecks fused in, not glued on. Why EPDM instead of recycled rubber? Recycled tile is shredded scrap held together with binder. It smells, it sheds black crumb, it fades, and the binder eventually gives up. EPDM is virgin rubber — color-stable, low-odor, UV and ozone resistant, and it stays dense where recycled tile compresses and crumbles. You’re not buying a floor twice. Spec bullets (pair with either) 20mm heavy-duty thickness Virgin EPDM — not recycled SBR crumb Waffle-bottom impact channeling Proprietary inner core layer Pre-manufactured flecked wear layer Low odor · color-stable · UV & ozone resistant Spec line, both units Tile size: 1m × 1m × 20mm (39.37″ × 39.37″ × ~3/4″) Coverage: 10.76 sq ft per tile A few practical ways to phrase it depending on the audience: Metric-first (trade/showroom): 1m × 1m × 20mm — 1 m² per tile US retail: ~39⅜” × 39⅜” × ¾” thick — 10.76 sq ft per tile Estimator-friendly: Roughly 3’3″ × 3’3″ per tile. Divide your room’s square footage by 10.76 to get tile count, then add 5–10% for cuts and waste.
