Polished Bauxite BAU135
BAU135. Bauxite (laterite) rough rock, cut and polished on one side. Dimensions at widest points approximately 100 mm x 80 mm x 60 mm thick. Weighs 638 grams. Bauxite is the main raw material used in the commercial production of aluminium. Large reserves of this stone occur in Western Australia. This specimen is from east of the Darling Ranges just outside the city of Perth.
