Pinglin Honey Black Made by the same 70 year old hands as this year's classic Competition Bazhong, this bug bitten black tea is treated much the same as a Baozhong would be. Delicately picked and de-stemmed by hand, the uniform look to these dried leaves are different than most honey blacks, as is the taste. The oxidization is a definite 100%, bringing a strong and recognizable 'black teaness' to the brew, unlike many modern bug bitten teas that can have lower oxidization levels. The result is a strong, smooth, sweet, classic tasting Honey Black Tea reflecting the flavors from the past before fruit flavors became more popular. Dark and rich, this is a great one for those that might enjoy 'the way black tea used to taste'...
