Yesterday, I wrote about "bringing the stripe from the lining to the outside," but today, I actually had someone wear it as an inner layer for a Denim Jacket. When I consulted a fabric store about what to do, they suggested "inlay knitting." Inlay knitting is a method where a different yarn is horizontally inserted between the loops of the base knitted fabric. By running the desired color and thickness of yarn as an inlay, we were able to not only reproduce the pattern but also express the floating and three-dimensionality of the yarn, just like the vintage blankets that were the source. It has a unique texture that looks a bit like a sweater. Simply put, it's a fabric that is "a blanket turned into a T-shirt." Now, when it's still hot, wear it alone. When it gets a little cooler, wear it as an inner layer for a denim jacket. Wear it continuously from summer to autumn.
