Freedom on a branch

My journey with creating sculpture began with no experience, although having animagination and wanting to create different types of art. I enrolled in a Certificatein Visual Arts. I learnt many skills and techniques. I have the chance to bring my culture to life through my sculpture. The black cockatoo represents many things to Aboriginal people around Australia.It can represent that luck is coming or that a storm is brewing in the distance. In my sculpture the black cockatoo represents freedom and strength, with it proudly putting its mighty crest on display and spreading its wings to show its size and might, able to fly away with no constraints, therefore proving his freedom.
