Neon Paperclips: 1-Day Class with Joanne 1-Day Class Sunday, October 18th, 2026 11am - 6pm Location: Museum of Neon Art - 216 S. The paperclips we use today were designed in the nineteenth century, and are so useful that we haven’t found a reason to change them since. Perhaps this is a principle of excellent and reliable design. Sound familiar? (NEON!) Join Joanne, MONA’s Electric Lab Manager, as she guides students through each step of creating a neon paperclip - from heating glass over fire, to working with a bending pattern, to wiring up a finished artwork. Three turns in a tube of glass is all you’ll need to properly secure a few sheets of paper. You’ll be fasten-ated as we celebrate the humble paperclip, a wondrous piece of compressed ingenuity.
