In the Wilds of China Endangered Wildlife Art Sculpture Project A tribute to China's most extraordinary endangered animals. In the Wilds of China is a collaborative wildlife art sculpture series dedicated to celebrating the beauty, character, and ecological significance of some of China's rarest species. Created by a team of renowned sculptors and wildlife artists, each piece captures not only anatomical accuracy, but also the spirit and individuality of the animal itself. Featured Species & Artists Golden Eagle Sculpted by LEE Sculpture Studio Yunnan Snub-Nosed Monkey Sculpted by LELE Studio Takin Sculpted by TUNAN Studio Clouded Leopard Sculpted by Art & Evolution Studio (Liu Tao) Master Paintwork Finished by wildlife artist Wang Yilin (DaLim / megantereonw) Four Species. Four Artistic Visions. At the beginning of this project, only the subjects and display base dimensions were defined. Everything else—including scale, composition, posture, expression, and artistic interpretation—was entrusted entirely to the sculptors. Without a shared template or predetermined direction, each artist approached their subject through their own observations and creative philosophy. The result is a collection of four unique wildlife portraits, each reflecting a different understanding of life in the wild. Every sculpture was traditionally hand-sculpted, with meticulous attention paid to anatomy, musculature, fur texture, and natural behavior. Golden Eagle A master of the skies, the Golden Eagle embodies strength, precision, and independence. Its powerful silhouette, piercing gaze, and commanding presence make it one of nature's most iconic aerial predators. Captured in a moment of quiet vigilance, this sculpture reflects both the freedom and solitude of life above the mountains. Yunnan Snub-Nosed Monkey Found only in the high-altitude forests of southwestern China, the Yunnan Snub-Nosed Monkey is among the world's most remarkable primates. Its distinctive features and silver-white coat are instantly recognizable, yet it is the expression that defines this piece. Thoughtful and introspective, the sculpture invites viewers to recognize a sense of kinship that transcends species. Takin The Takin is one of Asia's most powerful mountain mammals, inhabiting rugged alpine environments across western China. With its massive build and imposing horns, it symbolizes endurance and resilience. The sculpture portrays a quiet strength forged through generations of survival in some of the world's most demanding landscapes. Clouded Leopard Elusive, agile, and mysterious, the Clouded Leopard is among the most captivating predators of Asia's forests. Its distinctive cloud-like markings allow it to disappear into shifting light and shadow. Through subtle posture and expression, the sculpture captures the latent power and intelligence hidden beneath its calm exterior. Bringing Wildlife to Life Following the sculpting process, acclaimed wildlife painter Wang Yilin applied the final layers of coloration and finishing. Through carefully balanced tones, markings, textures, and shading, each sculpture was transformed from a static form into a lifelike artistic representation. Every brushstroke enhances the depth, realism, and emotional presence of the piece. The result is a rare collaboration between five artists, each contributing their own expertise while sharing a common goal: to honor the beauty of wildlife through art. A Celebration of China's Endangered Wildlife More than collectible sculptures, these works are artistic tributes to species whose futures remain uncertain. Through this project, we hope to encourage appreciation for wildlife conservation and inspire a deeper connection with the remarkable animals that share our world. Every species has its own story. Every life deserves to be seen.
