Sommerso Glass Bowl

Description: Italian mid century turquoise and yellow glass bowl by Flavio Poli for Seguso, Fabricated using the Sommerso technique with a yellow uranium glass exterior. (Submerged glass made by overlapping different layers of glass, with diverse consistencies and colors). Produced in Italy in 1960's. These bowls are unsigned. Master designers like Flavio Poli designed these for factory production lines. They were treated as high-end decorative decor rather than individually signed "artist pieces." They left the furnace with a generic sub-factory sticker or a "Made in Italy / Murano Glass" foil label which easily peeled off during the decades. Dimensions: 16cm x 18cm x 5cm. In very good vintage condition, showing minimal traces of use. Conditions reflected in images.
