The concentrated palate delivers terrific weight and plush texture, wonderfully framed by silky tannins, leading to a sustained, delicious finish.” Estate 2024 Cabernet Franc: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, 94 Points - "It's beautifully lifted on the nose, showing dark cherry, floral, dried herb, game, and toasted almond characters. The palate displays succulent fruit flavours with fine texture and grainy tannins, making it sturdy and structured with a pleasingly dry finish." ACO Certified Organic & Vegan Australia Certified COLOUR: Clean, clear dark cherry red with soft lilac-purple hues on the rim and swirl of moderate intensity. NOSE: Clean youthful aromas of crushed raspberry, rhubarb conserve and a light toasted nougat background. PALATE: Clean medium-bodied flavours of ripe strawberry and red plums across a smooth velvety tannin impression, finishing with a moderate length of peppery bramble fruits. WINEMAKING: The Cabernet Franc is most suited to our rich friable clay subsoils, an affinity it shares with the French vineyard soils of Saint-Émilion, Chinon and Saumur-Champigny. Often blended with our Estate Merlot to shore up its structure, the 2024 Cabernet Franc displays a defined, sumptuous character in its own right. FOOD PAIRING: Slow-cooked shoulder of lamb in a Moroccan herb and spice marinade, accompanied by couscous, toasted pistachios, Greek yogurt and a citrusy leafy salad. VINTAGE: After three successive cooler and wetter La Niña years (2021–2023), we experienced drier, warmer growing conditions in 2024, creating a growing season conducive to a high-quality outcome given our elevated, cooler site. A pre-flowering frost reduced net yield potential by 5% across Blocks A, B and C. Ideal flowering conditions thereafter resulted in a good crop, producing grapes with clean and generous varietal expression.
