Isotek Evo3 Elite Mains Cable

Every now and again a very special product comes along and redefines what we've found at a price point, and the Elite is just such a design. Its a very complicated cable construction but one that on paper looked like it had great potential to us, and listening confirms it does indeed. The conductors are silver plated 99.9999% pure OFC and there are three bundles for live, and three more for neutral and these are twisted around a central earth bundle. Teflon FEP insulation is used around each bundle and mechanically damped with cotton filler. Then a mylar wrap goes around the whole assembly before the OFC woven shield surrounds it all. The combination of the shield and the twist help reduce noise intrusion and emission. It's not the most flexible of designs and it's certainly chunky but the appealing gold colour helps diminish its visual intrusion, and I suspect you will not care one jot once you start listening. What this cables reveals is superb definition without over emphasis and a vibrancy that brings the music to life. The leading edges of notes are especially well captured and this has naturally has a tremendous effect on timing and the 'rightness' of the sound. This certainly isn't an inexpensive cable, but its performance definitely warrants it (in fact I dare say that if it cost twice as much I'd still be raving about it, such is the performance on offer...).
