How to Select the Correct Replacement Spring 1. Choose the Spring Wind Select either Left Wind or Right Wind. Please note that spring wind does not always determine which side of the door the spring is installed on. 2. Measure the Wire Size Measure the length of 10 coils with no gaps between the coils, then compare your measurement to the chart below. For better accuracy, also measure 20 coils.
