C4 to E5. One octave and a third, with an unusual set of steps inside it. This is the only chime in the line with a half-step at the bottom. Above that pair, the scale opens. E4, F#4, G4, A4, B4, C5 climb with no half-steps at all, then E5 lands on top. Two different instruments in one frame. The bottom is dense and unresolved. The middle and top are clean and consonant. That C#4 also sits a tritone below G4 — the same raised-fourth relationship that gives Lydian its lift, placed here in the low register where it reads as weight rather than brightness.
