Negritos of Zambales by William Allan Reed (1904) was the first study the American colonial Ethnological Survey published on the Aeta, drawn from two months of fieldwork in 1903 and illustrated throughout with J. Diamond’s photographs. It records the distribution, industrial life, amusements, and marriage and burial customs of the Negritos of Zambales, in the cataloguing voice of a survey that read them as a vanishing people.
