1876 Adelaide
A beautiful study of Adelaide in 1876. This engraving was published in July 1876, as a supplement to the Illustrated Sydney News, which described it as 'a capital view of the City of Adelaide. The picture is taken from a point on Pennington-terrace, below Christ Church, North Adelaide, so that the North Park lands and the Torrens are shown in the foreground. A considerable portion of the city proper, the seat of business, is shown, and a splendid background is furnished by the Mount Lofty chain of hills, which bounds the Adelaide plains on the south-east and south.'.
