Sugarloaf Shrug

Inspired by the Toast Poncho, this simple, versatile shrug features a lightweight, dense fabric with good balance of drape and loft. Knitted continuously from the neck down, the piece starts with a high neck with a rolled edge. The shrug is then shaped first along the shoulders to create a “saddle” separating the front and back. Additional shaping is introduced across the yoke and shaped at an increasingly gradual rate to create a domed shape. The piece is finished with a section of 1x1 rib. Measurements of finished piece: Width at neck: ~12 inches (~30.5 cm) Width at hem: ~30 inches (~76.2 cm) Length from neckline to hem: ~18 inches (~45.7 cm) Each kit contains (3) skeins of Kelbourne Woolens Scout (100% wool, 274 yards) and (2) skeins of Berroco Aerial (65% Superkid Mohair, 35% Silk, 284 yards) and a copy of the pattern.
