Your Stainless Steel Clothesline still needs looking after! Like all stainless steel, the SwiftDry stainless steel SeaLine clothesline range requires care and cleaning, as salt, dust and other particles can build up on the surfaces, causing tea-staining which appears like rust spots. Maintenance is made easy with a few tips in this guide to help keep it in top condition for many years to come! Living near the sea? If you live within 2km of the ocean and can see corrosion around your home and property then regular care and maintenance of your stainless steel clothesline is needed. Outside the salty zone? If you are not within 2km of the sea, a periodic clean with enviro-friendly dish soap and hose with brush will do the job. Clean it every 2-3 months, removing salt, dust, and other particles with a hose & brush. First, brush and wash all parts of your stainless steel clothesline. Once brackets are dry we recommend using ‘Marine Stainless 2 in 1’ as per instructions because it is perfect for buffing off tea-staining and for future bracket protection. A 237ml bottle should last a few years worth of cleaning every 2-3 months. Starbrite will remove existing rust depending on where it comes from. Whether it is from a few years of being exposed to the elements without cleaning, or if it is emitting from the stainless then of course it is not so much the stainless, as it is the residue from what the stainless was worked with (generally steel tools) and each time you use the Starbrite, it removes the residue, and will progressively take longer to return – it may return after 12-14 months, then with another coat generally 2 years and the possibly last go gives 5 years, basically each time the product is used, you are removing residue from exposure, or the steel tools that created the product – even bending machines of course are steel, so leaves that residue as well. Instructions Shake bottle well before using. Metal should be dry before polishing. Apply to a clean, dry cloth and rub on metal to remove surface rust, dirt and grime. Reapply to cloth as needed; product works while moist. Star brite Chrome & Stainless Polish will quickly dry to a haze. Using a clean, dry cloth, wipe off haze to reveal polished surface. For best results, apply a second coat within 10 to 30 days. Two applications will provide a tough, durable shield against rust, surface corrosion, grease, grime and dirt.
