A reamer, pitcher, and three tumblers in Hotta Yu Shoten’s basket-weave majolica, molded in relief with lemons, leaves, and citrus blossom, then hand-painted in vivid color with orange-banded rims and a striped rope handle. The reamer lifts away to reveal the pitcher beneath, designed to catch the juice. Hotta Yu Shoten produced hand-decorated Japanese ceramics for the American market between 1920 and 1947.
