Kiesel VM59K Vanquish Multiscale 5-String Bass – Custom Shop Umber Fade to Crimson Red This custom-built Kiesel VM59K Vanquish pairs modern multiscale performance with a truly distinctive selection of woods, electronics and cosmetic appointments. Its one-piece swamp ash body is finished in a beautiful custom Umber Fade to Crimson Red, allowing the natural grain to remain visible beneath the clear-gloss finish. The matching headstock continues the red-to-umber fade for a cohesive, high-end appearance. The bolt-on neck is constructed from three pieces of maple with purpleheart stripes and topped with an ebony fingerboard. Red acrylic staggered offset dot inlays complement the body finish, while 24 stainless-steel medium-jumbo frets provide exceptional durability and a smooth playing surface. Kiesel’s 34”–36” multiscale layout gives the low B string additional length and tension while retaining a familiar 34” scale on the highest string. The result is a clear, controlled low register combined with a comfortable and natural playing feel across the fingerboard. This bass also features a custom mixed-pickup configuration consisting of a Kiesel Radium KRJ radiused single-coil in the neck position and a Radium KRH radiused humbucker at the bridge. Combined with Kiesel’s active/passive electronics, this pairing provides an unusually broad range of tones—from articulate single-coil definition to the thicker output and punch of a bridge humbucker. Additional custom details include a black-limba headstock overlay, gold drop-shadow Kiesel logo, black-chrome hardware and a contrasting limba body treatment visible around the sculpted perimeter. The original factory order sheet also specifies that the bass was to be signed by Mark Kiesel. The Kiesel Ultimate soft bass case is included.
