Greengarden

I still love these daffodils with their distinctive lemon-yellow colour. It’s especially at the end of the day, when the light softens a little, that these ‘Greengarden’ daffodils look their best. It was also in the evening, after dinner, that I spotted this daffodil. I was driving along a back road near Lisse, having just been to Keukenhof, when I spotted it blooming over the hedge in the distance. What a colour! I decided to drive over there for a moment to see which variety of daffodil this was. Following a sandy path, I came to a plot of daffodils and knew straight away who they belonged to: the Wijnhout nursery. The plot was filled with one beautiful daffodil after another, and there aren’t many growers with such a lovely and extensive range of daffodils. I wasn’t very familiar with ‘Greengarden’ yet, so I was delighted to see her in all her glory for once – in full bloom, healthy and truly magnificent. I rang Wijnhout straight away to ask if I could add her to our long wish list of daffodils that we buy from him for the Fluwel online shop.
