Domaine Taupenot-Merme is a family estate based in Morey-Saint-Denis, run by Romain and Virginie Taupenot , the ninth generation to run this family domaine in Morey-Saint-Denis . The Morey Saint-Denis 1er Cru La Riotte 2020 is made from Pinot Noir grown on clay-limestone soils in the Côte de Nuits. The estate has farmed organically since 2001, and the hand-harvested grapes are de-stemmed and undergo a cold soak before fermentation with wild yeast. With few exceptions, the wines are bottled unfiltered, while sulfur doses are kept to a minimum.
