Favorite Piqua Ware #9 Cast Iron Skillet with Smiley logo and Heat Ring

Vintage Favorite Piqua Ware cast iron skillet, size #9, made in Piqua, Ohio sometime between 1916-1934. It is known to collectors as the "smiley" logo for the curved line under the Favorite Piqua Ware logo on bottom. It is marked with the smiley logo and 9 A underneath, the top side has no markings. Like most older skillets, it has a heat ring on the bottom . It measures 11.5" across, 16.25" in overall length including handle, and is 2.5" deep. This was an estate sale find but has been professionally restored. It is a real piece of vintage Americana from about 100 years ago! No cracks or chips, one card wobble if pressed at 3 or 9 o'clock. As shown, it has a significant amount of sulphur pitting on the underside, a testament to hundreds of meals cooked in this pan. Some pitting inside as well. Still a serviceable skillet for use. It is rust free, professionally restored via electrolysis. It has been seasoned with multiple coats of grapeseed oil.
