Thoughts from Almost Near Somewhere
Composer's Note: The A-Section of this Rondeau-structured work, appearing both instrumentally and vocally, is based on a traditional North Indian teental (sixteen-pulsed) Kaida taught to me (when I was living at Dartington in South Devon, England) by my tabla teacher, D’vdan Sen, and used with his permission and encouragement. The mallet-keyboard sections are derived from etudes I had composed for my students to help them advance their technical and musical skills. Percussion Needed: Group A. Shared Metal Pipe A 1.
